January 3, 2013

Government approval for starting Government Medical College with capacity of 100 students per year with attached 500-bedded hospital at Gondia. The government directed Director Medical Education to submit proposals for sanction of grants for posts.

June 16, 2014

GR for creating teaching and non-teaching posts in phased manner was issued. First year posts sanctioned: Class A-21, Class B-19, Class C-84, Contractual Posts-23, Tutors/Residents-59, Total 206 positions.

February 26, 2014

KTS District Hospital Gondia and BGW Hospital Gondia transferred to Medical Education and Research Department for three years. Built-up area available: 2786 sq meters at BGW hospital and part of 8051 sq meters of KTS Hospital Gondia.

December 2014

MOU signed between Director of Medical Education and Director of Health Services for transfer of District Hospital to facilitate medical college operations.

May 15, 2014

Land allocation: 5 hectares for hospital at Kudwa and 5 hectares for Government Medical College at Kudva, district Gondia. Total 10 hectares of adjoining land allotted to Medical Education Department.

Infrastructure Development

Layout plan for new hospital, college, hostel, and residential quarters prepared by Chief Architect Mumbai and currently in implementation process.

June 16, 2014

MOU between Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi and Government of Maharashtra for establishment of new medical college. 75% of expenditure (₹141.75 Crores) borne by Government of India, 25% (₹47.25 Crores) by Government of Maharashtra.
